Job
Summary:
Provide accounting support to the Executive Director of Business Services, Controller and Grant Managers.
Assists with the financial monitoring and reporting of grants under the direction of the Finance Director and Accountant by supporting the reconciling process, drafting cost projections, maintaining required documentation, drawing down funds, and auditing the accurate budget coding and spending of grants.
Assist with SEDRA reporting for special education.
Including:
gathering expense data, entering and editing data lines, and working with the Executive Director of Special Education, Executive Director of Business Services, Director of Human Resources, District Accountant and the Minnesota Department of Education to ensure the accuracy of the data submitted by state mandated deadlines.
Assists in the preparation and submission of financial reports and financial monitoring reports for district grants as needed and required by grantors.
Prepare adjusting entry requests as deemed necessary during grant monitoring.
Prepare various accounting, financial and reconciliation reports.
Provide required reporting to outside agencies.
Develop and manage spreadsheets.
Work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects at once to meet competing deadlines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications - Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business, or other higher education Knowledge and understanding of accounting and payroll practices, methods and procedures; Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software packages used for reporting as well as familiarity with office equipment (copiers, fax, etc.
); Knowledge of Minnesota UFARS System; Knowledge of filing and record keeping principles; Organized and detail oriented and possess the ability to work independently with a high degree of consistent accuracy; Possess strong analytical, critical thinking and mathematical skills; Self-motivated and possess problem solving skills; Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and demands; Ability to analyze and assess transactional data; Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately; Ability to maintain financial records and files for the purpose of facilitating financial compliance within established practices and policies; Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Pay &
Benefits:
The starting pay is $26.
22 per hour, with the opportunity to earn up to $4.
80 more per hour when completing continuing education.
