Summary:
This position protects Canterbury Parks' assets by detecting and preventing theft, embezzlement, cheating and other illegal activities by guests and /or employees, under general supervision of the Surveillance Manager.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Maintain confidentiality over all Surveillance Department, Canterbury Park Holding Corporation (CPHC), and Canterbury Park matters.
Act in accordance with Surveillance Department personnel policies, Surveillance Department operating procedures, CPHC Employee Handbook and CPHC Code of Conduct.
Utilize necessary surveillance cameras, equipment, and software to identify, record, document, and report any procedure violations, suspicious behavior, and illegal activity, particularly on the gaming floor.
Actively monitor, observe, record, and report daily casino activity.
Accurately complete video reviews, incident reports, daily log entries, and all other functions as assigned.
Report any technical issues, suspicious behavior/activity, security and safety risks, illegal activity, improprieties, and violations to the Surveillance Manager.
Work closely with other Canterbury Park departments to solve any issues.
Assist with investigations as instructed to by the Surveillance Manager and/or the Director of Risk Management and Compliance.
Responsible for all dispatching duties including the operation of the Surveillance Room as instructed during specified shifts on an as needed basis.
Attend training, meetings and briefings.
Maintain open communications with the Surveillance Department and other Canterbury Park departments and external entities as directed by the Surveillance Manager and/or the Director of Risk Management and Compliance.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of casino surveillance and/or table games experience OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
Excellent learning aptitude is required as the candidate is required to satisfactorily complete training in surveillance operations, equipment and casino games including:
Blackjack, EZ-Baccarat, Carnival Table Games and Poker.
Ability to learn, comprehend, and maintain fundamental knowledge of the Surveillance Department and Canterbury Park operations, and Title 31 requirements.
Must have experience with computers including but not limited to; Microsoft Office, Windows, Word, and Excel.
Must possess excellent observation skills, attention to detail, and attention span.
Must be able to pass Canterbury Park's pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience using surveillance equipment and software such as audio and video equipment.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in basic math skills.
